Explicit Imagery is Dangerous for Model Society

The Mission vs. The Reality

Model Society is a sanctuary for figurative fine art. Our mission is to explore the human form with reverence.

We recognize that "Art" is subjective. We understand that artistic merit exists across a spectrum and that high-quality, beautifully executed imagery can appear in genres such as erotica and adult content. We are not here to judge or debate the artistic value of those genres.

However, the internet's financial and legal infrastructure does not judge images by "artistic merit." It judges them based on classification.

The "Adult" Classification Trap. The internet infrastructure (banks, hosting, verification services) divides the world into two distinct categories: "General Audience" and "Adult."

They do not care if an image is beautifully lit or emotionally profound. If it contains specific visual triggers, such as sexual acts or specific poses, it is classified as "Adult."

The Consequences of "Adult" Classification. If we allowed explicit content, here is what would happen immediately:

  • Impossible Burden on Photographers (2257 Compliance): To comply with federal record-keeping laws for adult content, every photographer would be required to collect and upload government-issued IDs and consent forms for every model in every image. Casual sharing of fine art would effectively end.
  • Mandatory ID for Visitors: Many states now require adult sites to verify the age of every visitor using government-issued IDs. This would force us to put the entire gallery behind a privacy-invasive "ID Wall."
  • Loss of Payment Processing: Mainstream payment processors often refuse to process payments for adult sites. We would be forced to use high-risk processors with exorbitant fees and high decline rates, disrupting subscriptions for everyone.
  • Marketing Blocklist: We would be banned from advertising on mainstream social media and search engines. We would be relegated to "adult-only" ad networks, which are often associated with scams and malware.

Protecting the Sanctuary By strictly enforcing our content guidelines, we are not just curating art; we are protecting the infrastructure that allows this community to exist.

We strive to make Model Society an inspiring place where nude art can be shared openly and without shame. To do that, we must remain a "General Audience" fine art platform, both in spirit and in legal standing.
