Model Society wouldn't be what it is today without some very special creative talent from Ukraine.

Not only do we have many remarkable Ukrainian models and photographers contributing stunning works of art to the community, but our programmer and a member of the design team are from Ukraine too. We've been in touch with several and their lives have been turned upside-down.

Our programmer, Konstantin, has left his home with family and is thankfully safe in an area with no military activity. Our designer, Vitaly, has stayed near Kyiv to help protect a power station after his partner and mother have fled the country. And it’s humbling to realize that while we’re recording this, we don’t know how well this video or the good news of their safety will age.

As we're heartbroken by these world events, we feel an even deeping conviction that this art matters. Figurative fine art puts all of humanity on a pedestal. This positive vision of human beauty as a work of art – it endeavors to transcend culture, ideology, and tribe. It encourages us to look much more deeply into what we all have in common rather than the perceived differences that tear us apart.
